This breaking news article from inquirer.net caught my attention. Whoa, another Lorena Bobbit case. All men out there, beware: Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

BANGKOK, Thailand — A 35-year-old Thai woman was at large with her husband’s penis Saturday after discovering the man’s unfaithfulness, police said.

Pornbun Sinthusin came home late Friday in Bangkok and found her 34-year-old husband Ploeng Plaekratoke in bed with another woman, said Lieutenant Colonel Kornwat Hunpradit.

Pornbun later gave him several beers before cutting off his penis with “a sharp object,” Kornwat said, adding that the husband was in intensive care.

“We suspect she took both her weapon and her husband’s penis because we cannot find the penis in their apartment. We even checked a toilet but she did not dump it there,” Kornwat said.

Dogs sniff out pirate DVD factory

I hope the Optical Media Board (OMB) will also use these kind of dogs to fight video piracy in the country (huhuhu, and there will be no more 9-in-1 dvds). Sniffer dogs have helped shut down a factory in Malaysia that was producing pirated films, according to the Motion Picture Association (MPA) trade body. About 18,000 discs were seized from the premises near Kuala Lumpur, including illegal copies of The Simpsons Movie.

Lucky and Flo - the first dogs trained to sniff out counterfeit discs - were involved in the operation, which led to the detention of four men. (more…)

Bored in traffic? PRAY

I brought my 1st grader to school yesterday and we were running late since her classes starts at 7:20 and it was already 7:15. It was a little traffic at McArthur Highway and the vehicles coming from San Pablo were moving slowly so I was looking on my watch almost every second. Then, as we crossed the highway going to Tikay (where my daughter’s school is, Montessori School of Malolos), I saw this van with a plate strategically placed in its windshield. The plate says, “Bored in traffic? PRAY”. I think every car should have that plate, specially in Manila (EDSA in particular) where everyday, the traffic is horrendous!

Metaphorically, traffic may denote our own lives. Those words speak not just about the traffic on the street. Traffic may mean something, someone, or any circumstance that is coming in and out of our lives that is slowing us down or distracting our daily lives, much to our dismay, tension and worries. Sometimes, despite all our daily duties, work or tasks, we still feel empty as if everything is just coming and going. There are also times we are stuck in a situation (or problem) and we don’t know how to move forward or where to go. (more…)
