Why males die earlier than females

Ever wonder why males age faster than females? S-E-X! I stumbled upon this article from Live Science, which cited the results of recent animal research. These studies showed that polygamous males have faster ageing and earlier death compared to monogamous men. So you guys out there if you wanna live much longer, restrain those guns and control the hots, hehe.

SLOW DOWN THERAPY

This piece needs no further introduction, it speaks for itself…

SLOW DOWN THERAPY

1. Slow down; God is still in heaven. You are not responsible for doing it all yourself, right now.

2. Remember a happy, peaceful time in your past. Rest there. Each moment has richness that takes a lifetime to savor.

3. Set your own pace. When someone is pushing you, it’s OK to tell them they’re pushing.

4. Take nothing for granted: watch water flow, the corn grow, the leaves blow, your neighbor mow.

Sunday TV Mass

I usually hear the Sunday mass (or watch is the appropriate word?) only through the TV mass aired over at Channel 23 at 9:00am. I watch this TV mass religiously eversince me and the kids went back from Australia last January 2006. I tried bringing the kids to the mass once during our second week here, but with 3 kids in tow I heard more of their whining (aren’t we going home yet?, etc.) rather than the priest’s sermon. Not to mention walking around the aisle and doing some cheeky stuff, and kept on bragging me to leave already so that we could go to Jollibee.

So that following Sunday, I searched the local tv for mass and thank God, I tuned on Channel 23 and got hooked since. My eldest Kaye already knows the time of mass so she would automatically switch the channel. The kids would normally sit there with me on the TV front, hold our hands while singing Our Father and give each other a kiss for peace. The TV mass is held every Sundays, 9:00 am, at the SM Megamall and the celebrating priest is Father Mario Sobrejuanite of the Society of St. Paul (SSP). I encourage you to watch this mass celebration, if for some reasons you can’t attend the regular Sunday mass at the church, and for sure, you will thank me for that. (more…)

Beware: Lead content in toys - and now in lipsticks!

Red lips (source:http://www.retroradar.com/images/articles/lipstick_lips.jpg)

Hey, guys! It seems lead content issues are becoming a bigger dilemma. First, children’s toys including those from mattel and thomas the tank engine series (my sons’ favorite, :-( ). Now, I just found this news article from Reuters about lead content in lipsticks. I know most of us would be very much concerned, especially all the pretty ladies out there, since lipstick is one of the things we can’t go without. (more…)

Why I Love Being Married

I am writing this blog in response to my husband’s comment to my earlier post, Do not be anxious. I’ve been prodding him for the last few days about writing a comment in any of my blogs. Finally yesterday, he wrote a very sweet comment, I was so overwhelmed I told him I don’t know how to answer back. He said it’s alright if I won’t reply to his comment, but I told him I would since if I reply to most of my commentators, then definitely I would answer him back. Still, I couldn’t find the right words to write.

However, words cannot sum up what I wanted to say. I don’t want to be mushy here, but i just wish to vouch that even though we don’t have the perfect marriage, I could say I am contented. Even if we’re not together now, distance is superficial as compared to the knot that binds us one. I might go on and on, ’til I bore everyone, but I reckon all I wanted to say is engulfed to this nice annotation from beliefnet.com. This has been stored in my documents for almost a year now waiting for its due purpose. Why I loved to be married and continuously loving my husband? Here are the reasons why:
