As I was writing this post, series of earthquakes had been felt all around the globe. Even here in Bulacan, while I was serving my 2 boys their lunch around 12:30 pm I felt a little dizzy. The boys didn’t notice, but I knew from the start it’s an earthquake, which lasted about a minute. When I tuned on the radio, the DZRH AM station is already broadcasting breaking news about the earthquake that hit Manila and northern provinces, though no official statements yet from the authorities.
Before I started writing just 10 minutes ago (about 1pm here), I checked the Inquirer website for some bits about the jolt. Then as I update the browser, related earthquake news around the globe are added in their stories. Earthquakes are simultaneously felt in Indonesia, New Delhi, Japan, Papua New Guinea, Equador, Peru, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Iran and even the US state Oregon. I hope the list won’t grow.
There’s no massive damages reported yet related to the series of earthquakes, aside from reported 3 casualties and 45 injuries in Indonesia, but I dearly pray this wide out jolt won’t cause further damages and claim more lives.

I am having some “writer’s block”. Since Saturday, I left two post drafts, unfinished prayer page for Kriztin and picture slide for Carl. I feel a little drained after Carl’s third birthday last Friday and though there’s no big party, just simple dinner with the family and some neighbors, I did all the preparations and some cooking. Plus, the weather is not so good this weekend. There’s a storm, a downer that added to my being a bit lethargic. This morning, the classes are suspended because of the storm named Mina, so I kept myself busy with the kids. With their shrieking, fighting, and all that, I just couldn’t focus on writing a post, which I usually do after my 2 older kids left for school.
In between all my chores for the day, there are lots of things trailing in my mind - ideas that I think are good to write about (and yet couldn’t start writing), some worries, job prospects, future plans and other life uncertainties. I feel this is a humdrum day. Empty. Dull.

Today is November 21, such a special day for two beautiful people, who interestingly share similar names. Purely coincidental? I don’t think so. I am dedicating this post to two wonderful women who are both celebrating their birthdays today, CRISTINA (Chiqui) and KRIZTIN.
First, for CHIQUI, who is one of my BFF since highschool. You can see her in my guestbook, the one eating some cherries, hehe. She’s such a bright girl, our salutatorian in highschool (kaya ko nga ginawang friend, para hiraman ng notebook!hehe) Nope, kidding aside, all I know in our barkada, which we call BEERCAN (acronyms ng names), sa kanya ako closest and pinakamadalas din makaaway! hehe. The wonder of a mortar and pestle (that’s our best away,I’ll tell the story about it next time). We first met in Grade 6 (we came from different grade schools), when we were both competing in the Philippine History Quiz Bee. It was held in our old school and we were both sitting in one desk before our contest started. I was eating some meryenda, and she’s reviewing! Tsk,tsk, who won the contest? Hehe, me! Anyways, I never thought that that contest would be a caution? Hehe, nah, it was actually a precurser of a great friendship that lasted for more than 15 years, and still counting.
