What a Monday morning!!!
Good morning everyone! I am having my coffee now with puto I steamed last nov.1 (still tasted great coz I put the leftovers in the fridge, I’ll post the recipe soon). It’s just past 7am as I started writing this post. And already, what a great day it is! I think I need another cuppa. So, how my beautiful morning started today, Nov. 5 - the first day of my kids’ classes after the weeklong holiday?
1. Past midnight, as I was about to go to bed after nightly chat with Albert, the lights went off. I thought the electric fuse was busted again. But after some few minutes, I heard the neighbors saying it was brownout! Hehe, I remembered a faculty member in Oz who asked me to compare the lifestyle between Australia and the Philippines. I told him some differences, particularly the comfort of life in Oz, then I also told him there were no brownouts there. He asked me what is brownout, so I explained it some kind of power outage. He said, ahhh, blackout. Ok, different terms, but here in Pinas, when we say ‘blackout’ it’s supposed to be massive, right?
2. Right after the power went off, I searched for some candles then miguel, my middle child woke up. I told him to go back to sleep. Of course, he didn’t but rather asked me why there’s no light. Then Kaye and Carl woke up next. They were a bit cranky, so I gave them the toy led light I promised to let them play when there’s a brownout. Crankiness solved, but they won’t sleep ‘coz they just played! (more…)
