Beauty of LIFE

 Life-Abe Lincoln (Source: Allposters.com)

Today is November 21, such a special day for two beautiful people, who interestingly share similar names. Purely coincidental? I don’t think so. I am dedicating this post to two wonderful women who are both celebrating their birthdays today, CRISTINA (Chiqui) and KRIZTIN.

First, for CHIQUI, who is one of my BFF since highschool. You can see her in my guestbook, the one eating some cherries, hehe. She’s such a bright girl, our salutatorian in highschool (kaya ko nga ginawang friend, para hiraman ng notebook!hehe) Nope, kidding aside, all I know in our barkada, which we call BEERCAN (acronyms ng names), sa kanya ako closest and pinakamadalas din makaaway! hehe. The wonder of a mortar and pestle (that’s our best away,I’ll tell the story about it next time). We first met in Grade 6 (we came from different grade schools), when we were both competing in the Philippine History Quiz Bee. It was held in our old school and we were both sitting in one desk before our contest started. I was eating some meryenda, and she’s reviewing! Tsk,tsk, who won the contest? Hehe, me! Anyways, I never thought that that contest would be a caution? Hehe, nah, it was actually a precurser of a great friendship that lasted for more than 15 years, and still counting.

CHANGES and GRATITUDE

Ok, here it is, after numerous test runs, I finally chose the fluidflower Wordpress theme. I don’t normally use black but now I used it for a change coz the theme was made alive by the nice sunflowers on the header, plus I still got my blue color there. It’s also easy to play around, though I have to grapple with the paragraph spacing coz in the original theme spaces are too close. Plus I experimented with the font colors on the header to match those lovely sunflowers. I mis-matched, too, the font colors on the sidebars before choosing the blue hues to match the header block. The best thing I love with this theme? The body column is wide, unlike the feelthefreedom I previously used. This is what I am looking for in terms of column sizes. I can write longer blogs and put some more widgets without getting crowded - the webpage is maximised!

Changes

Change (Source:Allposters.com)Pardon me for making different changes with the theme. I just can’t seem to find the right one that suits me. I am thinking of designing my own lay out, but I need to learn the nitty gritty first. Plus I don’t have much time for that now. So for now, I have chosen surgiv template. Although I am a little bit tired of a blue theme, since my first two were both blue, I can’t find the layout that would fit all my other widgets nicely. I tried to use previously a more girly one the other time, a baliflower theme, but I still prefer to use a 3-column one, plus I don’t know how to edit its footer so I dished it yet again.

Since blogging is my new passion, I am hooked into editing themes I find nice and suits my taste and experimenting on the html - more of a trial and error. Hmm, I think I really need to learn how to make my own theme, it could get handy for sure if I learn how to manipulate html especially when I get tired of seeing the same theme everyday.
