My Grown-up Christmas List
I was supposed to make my own christmas list for this post, and most of the things that came first to my mind is of course some personal wishes - good health for my whole family, some material things, more clicks on adsense (LOLS), etc. On top of my list is of course, to be rich! Who doesn’t want to, right? Everyone dreams of a better life.
However, I felt selfishness upon seeing this video of Kelly Clarkson’s My Grown Up Christmas List uploaded in youtube by another pinoy under the name hardingrosas. I already saw this video about 2 weeks ago, but i watched it in full only now. There are other other versions, but for me this is the best one because it’s more Pinoy compared to the other videos. I cried while watching this presentation, and at the same time I felt ashamed of myself.
While I was feeling burned out with all these holiday rush and worrying all my Christmas (and life) woes, there are lots of less fortunate children who are not as lucky as my kids but they can still manage to smile and make the best out of what they don’t have. Truly an eye opener. There are lots of Filipino children who won’t even have brand new clothes this Christmas, more so a decent noche buena on their tables. Poverty is every where and many children are destitute of basic subsistence - lacking food, clothing, and a comfortable house.
As you watch this video presentation, please look at the eyes of those children. For sure, just like me, you will be thankful and contented of all the blessings you have. And of course, Christmas is a time of giving, right? Maybe we should share some of our blessings this season to our less fortunate kababayans - not just this time of the year but hopefully all year round!

i so love this kelly clarkson’s version of the song. and the way you showed it with the video, it’s just so shameful, you’re right, that as we worry so much about our own lives and feel sorry for what we have or don’t have, there are lesser fortunates who are happier than us.
