What webhost to choose?

Posted by malinesky

I am now looking again for a webhost. My subscription to my current webhost is now about to expire and I really need to transfer to a new host.  I already paid last week for the yearly hosting under a new webhosting company. However, when I checked their site today, it is now down and it said their domain is parked. What kind of webhost is that? I googled for some feedback about this cheap webhosting company and found some bad stories of fellow bloggers who subscribed to them. Yes, their hosting plan is the cheapest (50pesos! monthly), but the support service was so poor to nil and their sites experience lots of down time.

Never mind if I already paid Php550 to this cheap web host, as long as my site won’t experience getting bungled.  Now I am thinking of renewing my current subscription for at least a month so beautifulandhappy will keep on running even if it is much expensive (Php413 a month).  At least, my current web host has a great online support that I can ask anytime plus I can even send sms to them!

In the meantime, I need to look for a reasonable priced web hosting plan with good customer support. Good thing I found this post that gathers the top three web hosting companies. Maybe I should check out this list so I won’t get frustrated again. Ei, what’s your current web hosting company? I hope you help me decide. Thanks!

Thanks for all the blessings

thanks

I celebrated my 32nd birthday last Tuesday, 25th March. However, I wasn’t able to blog about it that day because my schedule this week was so toxic! I was cramming checking the exams papers of the 6 subjects I am teaching in time for the submission of grades this morning.

Well, there was no party on my birthday, but it was so special because my sister-in-law delivered twins! And they are so cute (like their tita, hehe). Coincidentally I share the same birthday with my nanay (mother) who was also born March 25, while my sister was born March 24 (and my second child Miguel’s born March 17). And now, the new additions to the family shares the same birthdate - and they are twins!

I was at the hospital early morning because the ceasarian operation was scheduled 7 am. The twins were delivered 7:43 and 7:44 am, however, my sister-in-law Thess still has to be operated and stayed at the delivery room until 1pm because she was bleeding profusely and her uterus should be removed, otherwise, she could die. According to the doctors, her uterus collapsed because the twins are big, almost 12 lbs total! Maybe that’s the reason why God gave them twins.

So after the operation, I met my father at Jollibee and treated him for lunch, then proceeded to the university to check the exams. I didn’t tell my co-instructors that it was my birthday. Then before I go home, I ordered pansit and bought Red Ribbon cake and that’s it! I am so happy with that - simple and no fuss birthday.

I just want to thank those who remembered to greet me, friends from way way back - mia, jeng (”long-distance” text from macau, hehe), nelson and didith, billy, maan, nerise, daryl, chix and hazel. And to my family and to those I forgot to mention, thanks!!! Of course to my loves, Albert, for always being there through thick and thin (baka meron umangal dyan!).

Lastly, to the Mighty one up there, for giving me this beautiful gift of life. To my nanay, Happy Birthday, too, I know you’re happy up there with Him! :D

    About Me

    Who am i?

Hi everyone, I'm Maline! Before blogging hit me, I was a chemical engineer, a Senior Investments Specialist in a government agency, and had my Masters of Environment degree from UniMelb in Oz. However, I had a 180degrees turn from all of these and chosen a much noble and more fulfilling (yet harder) path - to be a stay at home mommy to my three beautiful kids. Above all these, I am a one tough cookie, an optimist, survivor, novice blogger, a dreamer. I hope you like my blog, and come join my journey -- Living life to the fullest one day at a time!
