What webhost to choose?
I am now looking again for a webhost. My subscription to my current webhost is now about to expire and I really need to transfer to a new host. I already paid last week for the yearly hosting under a new webhosting company. However, when I checked their site today, it is now down and it said their domain is parked. What kind of webhost is that? I googled for some feedback about this cheap webhosting company and found some bad stories of fellow bloggers who subscribed to them. Yes, their hosting plan is the cheapest (50pesos! monthly), but the support service was so poor to nil and their sites experience lots of down time.
Never mind if I already paid Php550 to this cheap web host, as long as my site won’t experience getting bungled. Now I am thinking of renewing my current subscription for at least a month so beautifulandhappy will keep on running even if it is much expensive (Php413 a month). At least, my current web host has a great online support that I can ask anytime plus I can even send sms to them!
In the meantime, I need to look for a reasonable priced web hosting plan with good customer support. Good thing I found this post that gathers the top three web hosting companies. Maybe I should check out this list so I won’t get frustrated again. Ei, what’s your current web hosting company? I hope you help me decide. Thanks!

I’ve been wanting to transfer to my own domain, unfortunately I have zero knowledge about web hosting. another thing that’s been holding me back was my fear of losing my page rank and technorati authority once I transfer. but now that our good friend google has slapped me with a big fat ZERO, I might just get my own domain soon.
I’ll probably get blogger’s (google’s) free domain hosting for a start.

I’m far from an expert in the field of hosting but have been with Host Gator now since November. I had Ninja Jon do my transfer for me (free as long as I joined one of the hosting companies he was an affiliate for—which I did). Although it does cost me 10.00 per month and you can find much cheaper I think when it comes to hosting ya get what ya pay for. I don’t see any linking ability here so I’ll leave a link (maybe) that goes to my host gator page and you can see for yourself (if you want). Plus in my business roll you’ll see Ninja and can check his services out too. He set me up with a new WordPress Blog with a ton of templates, plugins, etc…..It was very much worth it for me, a guy who doesn’t have the technical know how..Here’s that link

@monaco - sigh, i read lots of blogs being slapped by google. nwei, i think getting blogger’s paid blog is cheaper compared to having your own hosting. plus you can have your own domain for only $10! Actually i am planning to build another site, but i am thinking of using paid blogger platform. plus there are now lots of nice free blogger templates!
@tommy & susan - thanks for the tips and links! i just paid for another month subscription so i’ll have some more time scouting for another host. my current one costs me $10 a month for 7.5GB bandwidth.

hi nelson! good to hear didith and inigo are now ok.
I just wanted to thank you - your site (ie my ec ad on your site) has bought in more traffic in 12 hours than I normally get in three days! I’ll be back for more!

Mine is Hostprestige. Excellent support, never down, and pretty affordable too
I got a customized plan that’s biannual since the owner agreed that I don’t need that much web space anyway because mine is just a blog. She’s (the owner) also very helpful and easy to contact. Why don’t you try that out? I used to be hosted by a friend and that’s her webhost too, and she says she never got a downtime. which is true.
