The LORD is AlWAYS NEAR

I have been away from my computer for the last 4 days. No blogging, no checking of emails, no entrecard dropping -nada. I don’t know, maybe last week was too hectic for me. I finished laboratory activities for my chemistry class, finished the lectures and prepared the exams. After that, the university hosted a 3-day orientation program, the second day of which, we spent in a depressed community where we were assigned 1 family each to spend the whole morning with. I will tell you about this humbling experience, it’s truly an eye opener for me.

Anyways, because of my toxic schedules in the last few weeks, I wasn’t able to hear Sunday mass in the last 3 weeks in a row. I didn’t even attended the TV mass at Studio 23. I always found excuses not to - not feeling well, raining, too late to dress up. I know this should not be the case.  After the community immersion program I joined, there was a mass after the reflections session.  Oh, how I miss the Lord!  I know He’s never far from me nor even left me.  I was just too busy to notice that in everything I do or everywhere I go, He’s always there.

God is truly wonderful!  As I was thinking of what to share with you today, I found Psalm 139 - The Lord is always near.  This is the dose I need, and hope to inspire you, too!  Have a nice week! :D

Prayer

Psalm 139 The LORD Is Always Near
(A psalm by David for the music leader.)

1You have looked deep into my heart, LORD,

and you know all about me.

2You know when I am resting or when I am working,

and from heaven you discover my thoughts.

3You notice everything I do

and everywhere I go.

4Before I even speak a word,

you know what I will say,

5and with your powerful arm you protect me

from every side.

6I can’t understand all of this!

Such wonderful knowledge is far above me.

7Where could I go to escape from your Spirit

or from your sight?

8If I were to climb up to the highest heavens,

you would be there.

If I were to dig down to the world of the dead

you would also be there.

9Suppose I had wings like the dawning day

and flew across the ocean.

10Even then your powerful arm

would guide and protect me.

11Or suppose I said, “I’ll hide in the dark

until night comes to cover me over.”

12But you see in the dark because daylight and dark

are all the same to you.

13You are the one who put me together

inside my mother’s body,

14and I praise you because of the wonderful way

you created me. Everything you do is marvelous!

Of this I have no doubt.

15Nothing about me is hidden from you!

I was secretly woven together deep in the earth below,

16but with your own eyes you saw

my body being formed.

Even before I was born, you had written in your book

everything I would do.

17Your thoughts are far beyond my understanding,

much more than I could ever imagine.

18I try to count your thoughts, but they outnumber

the grains of sand on the beach.

And when I awake, I will find you nearby.

23Look deep into my heart, God,

and find out everything I am thinking.

24Don’t let me follow evil ways,

but lead me in the way that time has proven true.

Bed bugs - EWW!

Me and my hubby are planning some renovations for next week. The house flooring will be all tiled up. So for sure, next week would be too busy for me and all of our house furnishings would be moved to my father’s adjacent house. Whew!

I am also looking forward on changing our bed mattress. I saw some little red bites on my legs and some, too, on my kids. Bed mite?! According to bedbugsguide.com red bites are signs of bed bugs. Ooops, according to this site, I don’t need to throw away our mattress - all I need to do is vacuum the mattress and put a mattress encasement, a plastic bug cover that keeps the bugs into the matress. Hmm, sounds easy, now where could I buy this? Bedbugsguide.com has listed some that can be bought via amazon. I’m gonna check it out now.

10 Reasons to be HAPPY TODAY!

I always try to start my day with a smile. Yes, literally! Every morning, before I get up I would try to smile as wide as I can. Funny? Yeah, but doing this gives me a good start for the day. At the same time, it’s also a way of ‘thank you’ for giving me another day to live.

This morning, I got up early around 4am, because my son Miguel was restless, he was thirsty. After drinking, he went back to bed and is now sleeping behind me. I forgot to flash that widest smile coz when woke me up, instead, I listed up the 10 reasons for me to be happy today! Here they are:

  1. Release of class cards to my chemistry students.
  2. I failed a student from my chem class - I know I shouldn’t marvel about it, but happy enough that I was fair in giving that grade.
  3. Submission of grades for my chem class - officially ending my summer class!
  4. Better weather compared to the stormy one last weekend.
  5. Peanut butter toast I am drooling to have for breakfast.
  6. I have a special class this afternoon, and I haven’t finished my lecture - cramming!!! (should I be happy about this?hehe)
  7. Looking forward for my chat with hubby tonight!
  8. I am going to cook fish fillet for dinner.
  9. Just seeing my beautiful kids who are all still sleeping.
  10. Can’t wait for them to wake up! :D

How about you, what are your 10 reasons to be happy today?
