The LORD is AlWAYS NEAR
I have been away from my computer for the last 4 days. No blogging, no checking of emails, no entrecard dropping -nada. I don’t know, maybe last week was too hectic for me. I finished laboratory activities for my chemistry class, finished the lectures and prepared the exams. After that, the university hosted a 3-day orientation program, the second day of which, we spent in a depressed community where we were assigned 1 family each to spend the whole morning with. I will tell you about this humbling experience, it’s truly an eye opener for me.
Anyways, because of my toxic schedules in the last few weeks, I wasn’t able to hear Sunday mass in the last 3 weeks in a row. I didn’t even attended the TV mass at Studio 23. I always found excuses not to - not feeling well, raining, too late to dress up. I know this should not be the case. After the community immersion program I joined, there was a mass after the reflections session. Oh, how I miss the Lord! I know He’s never far from me nor even left me. I was just too busy to notice that in everything I do or everywhere I go, He’s always there.
God is truly wonderful! As I was thinking of what to share with you today, I found Psalm 139 - The Lord is always near. This is the dose I need, and hope to inspire you, too! Have a nice week!

Psalm 139 The LORD Is Always Near
(A psalm by David for the music leader.)
1You have looked deep into my heart, LORD,
and you know all about me.
2You know when I am resting or when I am working,
and from heaven you discover my thoughts.
3You notice everything I do
and everywhere I go.
4Before I even speak a word,
you know what I will say,
5and with your powerful arm you protect me
from every side.
6I can’t understand all of this!
Such wonderful knowledge is far above me.
7Where could I go to escape from your Spirit
or from your sight?
8If I were to climb up to the highest heavens,
you would be there.
If I were to dig down to the world of the dead
you would also be there.
9Suppose I had wings like the dawning day
and flew across the ocean.
10Even then your powerful arm
would guide and protect me.
11Or suppose I said, “I’ll hide in the dark
until night comes to cover me over.”
12But you see in the dark because daylight and dark
are all the same to you.
13You are the one who put me together
inside my mother’s body,
14and I praise you because of the wonderful way
you created me. Everything you do is marvelous!
Of this I have no doubt.
15Nothing about me is hidden from you!
I was secretly woven together deep in the earth below,
16but with your own eyes you saw
my body being formed.
Even before I was born, you had written in your book
everything I would do.
17Your thoughts are far beyond my understanding,
much more than I could ever imagine.
18I try to count your thoughts, but they outnumber
the grains of sand on the beach.
And when I awake, I will find you nearby.
23Look deep into my heart, God,
and find out everything I am thinking.
24Don’t let me follow evil ways,
but lead me in the way that time has proven true.
(Contemporary English Version)

You have a very nice blog! Love the template. Psalm 139 is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible, it beautifully describes how God truly loves us deeply. Btw, you mentioned depressed community immersion in this post, how it was a humbling experience for you. I have been involved as a volunteer for a Christian NGO reaching out to depressed communities for 19 years (almost half of my life), dedicated each and every Saturday to the children we teach and the communities we help. I’ve written a post about this in my blog - Reach Youth…Making a Difference. Hope you can take the time to drop by, and we can even x-links if you’re interested.
God bless and all the best to you!
