After the RAIN

It’s been raining the whole day so I thought there’s another storm this morning, because the rain is heavier and skies are gloomier compared last week. But when I checked the PAGASA website, there’s no storm today, but only tail-end of a cold front. According to some oldies, this is what we call hanging amihan. Hehe, as if I know what habagat is (I know it’s a brand for mountaineering gears coz back in college I did some mountain climbing and I got a chunky Habagat beltbag that I used everyday for school and some lakads, and I still kept it after so many years but gave to my bro-in-law only a few months ago. Yeah, even if it’s more than 10 y/o, it’s still in good shape!). Anyways, I am just amazed with the old folks here in Bulacan, coz when you ask them about the weather, instantly they know when it is habagat or amihan.
Oh well, amihan explains why it’s a bit cold today and I love it, how I wish the weather here in Pinas would always be this breezy not humid and too sunny - but of course, minus the rains so that it’d just be nice to stroll under the sun. Just like the perfect weather of spring - hayy, daydreaming!
Anyways, I am still thankful it’s raining today. Aside from the unusual cool temp the water pressure is strong that I already finished 2 full loads of laundry afterlunch. Plus I finished washing the dishes, too, coz unlike in the ordinary days, I couldn’t even wash the dishes in the afternoon because there’s no water coming out yet. And in gloomy days like this, it’s just too tempting to doze off to sleep the whole afternoon, and how I wish! The kids just played and even though I told them many times to take a nap, all my prodding just fell on deaf ears. Even if I told them they will grow faster, stronger, blah, blah, blah. Obviously, for them siesta is too boring compared to playing bahay-bahayan!
Still, I find the rains mystical. Dramatic. Mysterious. A transition. It maybe sunny today but tomorrow there would be rains, then there would be sun again, then rain, and so on. Plus if there’s no rain, we won’t appreciate the sunshine, right? And just the same, if there would always be sun, wouldn’t we wish for some rains? Ang gulo, hehe.
I mean life is a changing weather. Sometimes we experience the rains, even storms (or catastrophe for some) - problems, pains and sadness. But after that, happy times again - we’d have sunny weather. So if you’re having some rainy seasons now, just wait and do not sulk. Because for sure after the rain, there’s a nice weather waiting, the sun’s going to come out - beaming. Just like in a quote, “God didn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.”
And of course, like in my other blogs, the best way to end this entry is with a nice poem……….
AFTER THE RAIN
Whatever your cross, whatever your pain,
There will always be sunshine after the rain
Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall,
But God’s always ready to answer your call
He knows every heartache, sees every tear,
A word from His lips can calm every fear
Your sorrows may linger throughout the night,
But suddenly vanish at dawn’s early light
The Savior is waiting somewhere above,
To give you His grace and send you His love
Whatever your cross, whatever your pain,
God always sends rainbows after the rain

Dear frederick,
I am surprised with your news. Though we just exchange messages here in my blog, I wish to say that you’re like a friend to me already, like a younger bro and I really admire both of you for your strength in this situation. What you and your wife is going through is tough, but with your great faith I know you will pull through this together.
God will help you for sure, and will not forsake you specially now. Like what is said in today’s bible verse, “Remember, I am with you always.” Jesus (Matt.28-16:20)
Pls. extend my regards to your wife. She’s so lucky to have you. I will surely include you in my prayers. God bless!!!
